We are pleased to share that Pulsaart by AGC (AGC Glass Europe) has been awarded a new public tender by České dráhy, the Czech national railway operator, to treat windows on Bbdgmee236 and Regiopanters 650 series railway vehicles using our WAVETHRU™ Retrofit solution. The project aims to improve mobile signal reception inside trains while preserving glazing performance and passenger comfort.
The laser-based treatment makes train glazing permeable to mobile signals without affecting its thermal insulation or optical clarity. The effectiveness of this modification was verified by the Czech Telecommunications Office in May, confirming the significant improvement in signal transmission through treated glazing. The work will be carried out in close coordination with České dráhy’s maintenance depots in Plzeň and Prague to align with service schedules and minimize operational disruption. As in all deployments, the process is performed directly on existing glazing without removal or replacement, ensuring both efficiency and sustainability.
This new project continues the successful collaboration between Pulsaart by AGC and České dráhy, which began with the first WAVETHRU™ Retrofit deployment in the Czech Republic earlier this year. Building on that experience, the upcoming treatment will extend improved connectivity to additional vehicles within the Czech national fleet, supporting the operator’s long-term efforts to enhance passenger comfort and digital accessibility on board.
We are proud to strengthen our partnership with České dráhy and to keep contributing to better-connected, sustainable railway travel in Czechia.
